The software operates by playing a predefined, generated test signal (containing test tones, swept sines, and noise sequences) through an audio device and simultaneously recording the output. Loopback Testing: The computer plays the test signal from its audio output line and feeds it directly back into its own audio input line. This measures the combined performance of the internal digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
